It was an authentic taco with a fun local flare. The fish tacos were also delicious. The portion sizes and prices were excellent. The staff was very kind and helpful, offering refills on chips and different types of salsa.

      Stopped in on recommendation. Was not disappointed. Happy hour. Fabulous margaritas. Ordered only one burrito to share, since we were only stopping for a snack. Best steak burrito ever.

I’m not talking about the small, full of ice nothings at most Mexican restaurants, Amigos’ are the real deal! Free homemade chips and salsa with drinks at happy hour. The salsa is made fresh daily and is a treat! We also had the TERRIFIC homemade queso dip, also the best I have ever tasted. Needless to say (but I will anyway!) we will be regulars whenever we are visiting Hilton Head. Ask for Carolyn, owner and hostess. She is terrific.

    Then onto the food. OMG I went against my hesitation and ordered the BBQ chicken salad because it was their most popular dish, and so far the reviews have been spot on. Bam! Again, great choice. Not a traditional Mexican dish but it wasn’t as weird as it sounds. It was truly delicious.

    Then onto the staff/owner: the best ever! Friendly, nice, positive people and atmosphere. A review mentioned the host/owner Carolyn. Perfect description in a review. She is the sweetest. We stayed and chatted with her and her staff well after closing time.

    Only downside: gps has difficulties finding it. It’s in the shopping center it’s having you circle around. Stop listening and look up. You see it nestled in amongst other store fronts. You won’t regret it. I will definitely come back!

It was also easy to order via the phone. The burritos could be two meals. When back in the area would stop again. It is a corner of a shopping center and that was the only hiccup was finding it. We drove past it twice, it was dark. Hopefully, next time we can eat inside.

We ordered our food to go and went to pick up some groceries while they prepared it. I was happy to see that Amigos was as busy as ever, both with eat in and take out diners. It’s one of our go-to places when we visit and perfect first night choice. Items as well packaged for take out. I didn’t lose a crumb of my tortilla shell on the way home. Staff were masked.

The... read more burritos are huge and amazing. Jimmy’s margarita is one of the best I’ve ever had. Quick, friendly service and laid back atmosphere. Cheese dip is great, salsa is not as good. Love this place and highly recommend!

    We started of with the Chips, Salsa & Queso Dip....Perfect in all aspects even the Salsa Bar~ The Queso was perfect, Spicy and Consistent! Amazing salsa and the Green Salsa was perfect!

    My wife had the Nachos W/Chicken and I had the Killer Burrito (Carnitas) It was phenomenal and perfect! Ingredients made each piece pop! What an amazing place....Portions were enormous and Wow! Amazing Margaritas too add to this fabulous meal~

    The servers and prep cooks were working constant and the place was clean and an amazing atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating! Highly recommend and what a hidden gem of the beaten path. A HH place from now on for us~

  •   I don’t often give 5-star reviews, but somehow feel this place deserves this rating — perhaps mostly because of its authenticity.

    From the music to the counter staff ...... read more from the shy, beautiful women cooking out the back to the actual food itself ... and from the gentle simplicity of the cantina to the line-up of beer-drinking locals at the bar ... one could almost mistake oneself for actually being in Mexico.

    Once we ordered our meals from the front counter (which was a tough thing to do ... if only because the menu is so extensive and it was hard to decide what to eat!) and took our seat at a table, our drinks and then meals were quickly served. And oh my, those meals!

    Super fresh and absolutely GINORMOUS. None of us could finish what we’d ordered (probably shouldn’t have ordered the chips and salsa as a starter...) and took about 2/3 of it home as leftovers.

    My taco salad with chicken was one of the best Mexican salads I’ve ever had, though my husband wishes he’d ordered something other than the chicken fajita burrito — he loves burritos but not so much fajitas, so will try something else when we go back.

    Loved the cozy atmosphere and the decor — one could sit and idle away hours here, just sipping beer and staring at the walls!

    Will definitely return when we’re back here in the summer.
